OFFICIAL TUMBLR OF MYFOLKINGHEART.COM

Last night Frontier Ruckus held a free show at my school. Here are a few photos from the night, all credit goes to kenvillapando. The concert was a wondrous affair, great energy from both the band and the crowd. At the end of the show, the group unplugged and had everyone sit, as they performed a few songs in the center. It made for a beautiful and intimate moment and a great way to end the night. If you ever have the chance to catch these guys, do so. It is well worth your time, and had I needed to pay, I would have done so immediately. You can check out the rest of the pics on the MFH Facebook!

The Head and the Heart Live!

They killed! I was expecting an energetic show and the fact that it was at a college didn’t hurt, energy was a-flowin’. An added perk was that the show was part of a concert series at the university so the band did a Q&A right after the show. Everyone in the band is really chill, most are relatively soft spoken, except for Jon who was obviously born to be in the spotlight.

The set list involved every song from their debut as well as two new songs, one whose name I don’t know, and the other which is entitled “Chasing a Ghost” and has been circling the interweb for a while. The latter was sung by Jon and Charity alone and was a beautiful quiet moment in a set heavy on rocking out (as much as folkies can rock out anyways). Speaking of Charity, she absolutely blew me away. I’ve seen some videos where she seems timid and unsure of herself and I was interested in seeing how she would fare live. She absolutely tore the stage up during “Rivers and Roads” and it was chill inducing. Easily the highlight of the night for me.

If you ever have the chance to see these guys do yourself a favor a pick up a ticket. It is absolutely worth your money!

EDIT: Josh is actually Jon, my bad. Also, I forgot to mention they played a song not from their record called “Josh McBride” which I posted a video of a while back.
